It’s nearly springtime!
Firstly, I want to say an overdue, and enormous ‘Thank You’ to all those who travelled from around the country to celebrate with us at Derby Cathedral at the end of November. We were nearly overwhelmed by your support for us, and are thankful for your ongoing enthusiasm for the work going forward. If you weren’t able to join us, you can see some of the images here.
We were also thankful for the opportunity to celebrate the support of others, the work of our small team and the vision that we are working towards. Now, however, the really hard work starts, and so we are working at Highfields Farm with the Hosking and Welsh families to plan out how the future will look – but we are enjoying exploring that reality together!
Jane our CEO has confirmed her training location, and will be taking up an unpaid position as a minister in Derby under the watchful eye of Tony Luke and Beth Honey. She will have a placement at the Trent and Derwent group of Parishes (http://www.trentderwentparishes.org/) with Tony, while joining Beth working in a role that is best described as ‘community chaplaincy’ in the Derby area. She will be ordained in Derby Cathedral later this year.
We’re also out and about meeting people all around the UK who share our passion for mentoring young people in practical skills, so if you know anyone with a similar project or passion, then please do put them in contact with us.
So things continue to move ahead slowly but steadily, and we look forward to being in a position to share more exciting news with you over the weeks to come.
